About Tosari Crop Research Centre
Tosari Crop Research Centre (TCRC) is a 748 ha research and commercial cropping facility on the Darling Downs in Queensland, 100 per cent owned by the Australian grains industry.
The two properties which make up TCRC, ‘Tosari’ and ‘Carinya’, were purchased in 2017 as part of a unique $10 million grant by Grains Research and Development Corporation and the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
Who We Are
TCRC is operated by Queensland Crop Research Ltd (QCRL) as the trustee for Grains and Cropping R&D Trust. QCRL is a not-for-profit organisation with all of the Trust’s assets held in perpetuity for the industry.
The QCRL Board and management team have extensive experience in RDE&A, commercial agronomy and the farming systems of northern New South Wales and southern Queensland. They offer clear and established linkages to industry for both upstream and downstream issue identification, development, system integration and adoption.
QCRL has engaged MCA Ag Management Pty Ltd as the professional management team to grow the commercial crops, manage and plan the farms’ development, and manage the provision of research-ready land.

Tosari Crop Research Centre is located in one of the nation’s prime agricultural regions on the Condamine River near Millmerran, 70km southwest of Toowoomba and 210km from Brisbane, Queensland.
Its central location in the northern growing region and close proximity to established scientific research institutions provides an attractive prospect for researchers and farmers.
Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport is only 45 minutes drive from TCRC, and bitumen roads into the facility provide easy wet weather access.
